Check out that page. We’ve expanded our list of blogs from classical radio stations, updated some broken links, and added a list of classical radio people and stations that are using Twitter. Mona-
First, thanks for including Stephen Hill from Hearts of Space in your weblog list. H.O.S. has given my wife and me endless hours of enjoyment. Stephen Hill has brought a dimension to PubRadio to be found nowhere else. Since WNYC made the decision to drop the program, I am delighted with the opportunity to have an internet subscription – in fact, two subscriptions, one at home and one at work. The new web site and flash player are just not to be believed. They are just great.
A really good station for Classical Music not on the list is WCNY, Syracuse, NY. I was a member before we got wnyc2, back in the Paul Dunn days. Don Dolloff and the “Three Bills” put up a really good listener experience. For Don, “Go Sox!!”
An invaluable source for me when WNYC dumped daytime music was http://www.publicradiofan.com, where the searching listener can find everything and anything in PubRadio.
Since you listed people Like Greg and Alex, does anyone know what’s up with Alan Rich’s “So I’ve Heard” Alan, in L.A., and octogenarian, last time I was able to read him, was still absolutely sharp as a tack.
Also, Alex Ross at his site has a mind boggling list of critics and another of webloggers.
Mona – Thanks for this great list – hope there’s room for an addition? WDAV is a 24/7 classical pub radio station broadcasting at 89.9 FM in the Carolinas and internationally via online streaming at wdav.org, via iTunes and via iPhone Pub Radio app.
Follow the station @wdav for playlist tweets + music news. We also have several staffers regularly on Twitter:
General Manager Ben Roe @RoeDeo
New Media Director Rachel Stewart @rastewart
Announcer/Producer Jennifer Foster @WDAVJen
Multimedia Producer Jeffrey Freymann-Weyr @jkfw
Marketing Director Lisa Gray @lisavgray
Will be updating my feeds and Twitter follows with your great list – thanks for the recommendations!
Thanks for adding the WTJU “Classical Comments” blog to your list. Since we’re a multi-format station, some of our feeds are a mixture of classical and non-classical. Nevertheless, if you’d like to add them, we have some Twitter accounts folks might like to follow.
@WTJUClassical – this is the Twitter for our music director, Paula O’Buckley
@wtju911fm – this is the Twitter account for the station, and primarily provides schedule updates
@ralphgraves – I provide updates for my program using the hashtag #WTJU, and occasionally tweet about classical music matters
