10694 – WFIU Music Director, Radio and Television Services

Job Summary: Oversees the acquisition, selection, and scheduling of WFIU music programming to assure   highest standards in musical and technical quality. Coordinates WFIU’s   programming operation, hosts a regular air-shift, and produces programs for   some of the classical music hours. Additionally, reviews new program   offerings, costs, and Content Depot subscriptions. This extends to some of   the breaking news specials, as well as with the usual music syndicators such   as NPR, APM, and WFMT.
Qualifications:   Review your qualifications prior to applying to ensure that you meet the minimum qualifications for the position. Resume and cover letter   required.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a music or communications related field and   one year of public broadcasting experience.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Outstanding musicology and communications skills; and good mental concentration   including ability to multi-task. Excellent organizational skills, non-linear   thinking, and intense concentration skills; and ability to work flexible   hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Preferred: Graduate degree and previous classical music programming experience; knowledge of traffic, music management, and automation software.

Salary range: $31,000 – $38,000, depending on the extent of relevant   experience.
