All Classical Gets All New Location

Housewarming is in the plans for All Classical KQAC!  In the three decades classical radio has serenaded Portland, Oregon, KQAC has been a fixture on the campus of Benson Polytechnic School.  Presently, the station operates in very modest quarters, but in May, KQAC will have its own larger, newer space among cultural neighbors in the Hampton Opera Center, located Portland’s Central Eastside area.In an article by Ellen Spitaleri of the Portland Tribune, KQAC President Jack Allen explains,

“It is ideally located in proximity to our arts partners and all the people who want to get close to us. And it is the only radio station I know of accessible by all means of transportation options, including light rail, buses, boats, cars and bicycles. A submarine and the aerial tram are also nearby…”

Allen and the other staff look forward to sharing space not only with the Opera but also with other partners like the Friends of Chamber Music, who will likely move into the Center as well.
